Short version: I do not track you, I do not use cookies, and I do not sell anything to anybody. If you write to me, I keep what you wrote so I can answer it.

Who is responsible
MYiTECH is the trading name of Abdalla, a software developer working from London, United Kingdom. I am the data controller for this website — there is no one else behind it.

What this site collects
1. The contact form
When you fill in the form, I keep your name, the contact details you give me, the type of work you picked, your message, the date, and the IP address the message arrived from. The IP address is there to stop the form being abused by robots, nothing else.
This is stored in a small database on the server I rent and run myself, and a copy is emailed to me so that I actually see it. It is not sent to a mailing list, a CRM, or any marketing tool, because I do not use any.
Why I am allowed to keep it: you asked me to get in touch, so it is either steps taken before a contract at your request, or my legitimate interest in answering my own enquiries.
How long: until it is clearly finished — you become a client and it moves into your project notes, or nothing comes of it. Anything older than two years with no project attached is deleted.
2. The assistant, and the translation demonstration
Both of these send what you type to an outside AI company, which produces the reply and sends it back. That is the only way they can work.
The provider is DeepSeek, a company based in China. Your text leaves the United Kingdom when you use those two features. I have no control over what that company does with it, beyond their own published terms.
So do not type anything private, confidential or personal into the assistant or the translation box. Ask me by email instead — email comes straight to me.
I do not save the conversations. They are not written to any database on my side, and once the page is closed they are gone from mine.
3. Counting visits
I count visits myself, on my own server, so that I know whether anybody is finding this site. When a page loads it records four things: which page, where you arrived from (Google, a link on another site, or nothing), whether you are on a phone or a computer and which browser, and a country.
The country is worked out from the clock setting and the language your own browser reports — for example a browser set to Europe/London is counted as the United Kingdom. Your address is never looked up anywhere and never written down. All that is stored is a number worked out from it, mixed with a secret that changes when the server restarts and with today's date, so that two visits in one day are not counted as two people. That number cannot be turned back into you, and tomorrow it is different.
- No cookies. The site sets none at all.
- No Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no advertising or tracking scripts of any kind.
- Nothing about your visit is sent to any other company.
- No account to create, no newsletter, no marketing emails.
If you would rather not be counted at all, a browser set to block scripts, or private mode, is enough. Nothing on the page depends on it.
4. Nothing else
The only outside thing the page loads is the typefaces, from Google Fonts. Your browser fetches those from Google, which means Google sees the request. If that matters to you, tell me and I will host the fonts on my own server instead.
Who else can see any of it
- Hostinger — rents me the server the site and the enquiry database sit on, and runs the email for contact@myitech.co.uk. They can technically reach the machine; they are not given the data for their own use.
- DeepSeek — receives only what you type into the assistant or the translation box, as described above.
Nobody else. I do not share, sell, rent or trade enquiries, and I never will.
What you can ask me to do
Under UK data protection law you can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to my keeping it. Email contact@myitech.co.uk and I will do it — free, and within a month. In practice it takes me a few minutes, because it is one row in one small database.
If you think I have handled your information badly, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security, honestly stated
The site is served over HTTPS. The enquiry database sits on a server only I have access to, and the assistant's key is stored so that the website itself cannot read it. No system is perfect and I will not pretend otherwise — which is exactly why the box above tells you not to type anything sensitive into a public demonstration.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no version history to hunt through; the page you are reading is the one that applies.
